Abstract: This work looks at knowledge transfer and its impact on teaching strategies and practices. It focuses on the formation of creative and innovative minds, particularly in architectural design education. It presents a heuristic model for developing creativity in first-year architecture students. Drawing on his own doctorate and many years of experience teaching architectural design, the author shows how the contemporary educational debate focuses on the transfer of knowledge, and that architectural education has every interest in building on this.

Key words: knowledge transfer, creativity, unlearning, design thinking
