Abstract: Highways are important factors in the growth of a country's economy, whereas significant part of productivity travel in these roads. Thus, it is important to maintain an extended to the pavement life cycle. Within this context, this article, an Undergraduate Thesis in civil engineering produce, describes a case study of pathological manifestations in a critical section of highway DF-001, localized in Pistão Sul, Taguatinga/Distrito Federal. In order to realize the visual survey of apparent occurrences and the determination of the Global Severity Index (IGG) of the pavement was applied the Objective Surface Evaluation Method - according the Standard DNIT 006/2003-PRO. The evaluated section presented a high value of IGG, 260, with a considerable degree of deterioration, classifying it in a state of poor quality, reflecting in unsatisfactory conditions of safety and comfort.
