Abstract: This paper aims to analyze how the induction factors of the built environment from the revitalization works of Marquês do Paraná Avenue, in the central area of the municipality of Niteroi/RJ- Brazil. Moreover, their relations with the advances brought by the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) released in 2019, which influenced the transformations of the mobility paradigm along the avenue and in its nearby neighborhoods, were also objects of evaluation. It was applied an analytical and exploratory methodology of the attributes executed in the Nova Marquês do Paraná Project, evaluating the improvements of mobility noticed on the street when compared to the urban planning of this avenue in the past. It was possible to contrast the current induction factors of the built environment to sustainable mobility with the mobility attributes historically prevalent in the avenue that characterized it as a street axis of passage, inviting only motorized traffic. It was observed that these induction factors acquired the potential to transform local dynamics of displacement and permanence, induced the choice of active modes of travel integrated to public transport and enhance social, economic and leisure activities at the adjacent public spaces of the avenue. This research concluded that the new induction factors are means that can incorporate the human scale on the avenue, promote integrated management of public transport and land use and become reference practices for future masterplans and urban projects in Niterói and similar cities.
