Abstract: In Vietnam, the National coastal water quality monitoring network, managed by Vietnam Environment Administration, was established in 1996, including: Northern coastal environmental monitoring station, Central coastal environmental monitoring station and Southern coastal environmental monitoring station. Monitoring data of 2018 revealed that at the Northern station, Tra Co monitoring site had a risk quotient (RQ) > 1.5, which means it was at a high risk of environmental pollution. The remaining sites had RQ value ≤ 1, which translates to a low risk of environmental pollution. The coastal water in the Central region during the monitoring period was reported to be of good quality. The southern sites such as Nha Trang, GanhRai, Song Doc, and offshore station of PhuQuy had RQ < 1, which files them under a low risk of environmental pollution; while Phan Thiet and Ha Tien sites had RQ > 1.5, categorizing them at a high risk of environmental pollution.
