Abstract: Thirty-one teachers from Greece, Spain (Canary Islands), France (Guadeloupe), Lithuania, Serbia, Slovenia and Romania participated in an eTwinning project entitled “Road to Reduction”, with founder and coordinator being the 2nd Kindergarten of Ierapetra, Crete and the Ecole élémentaire Grand Camp of France. Students learned about local and global environmental problems, while the school was transformed into a stimulating learning environment. Emphasis was placed on experiential learning and building the school-family partnership. The students’ interest remained undiminished throughout the duration of the school year, as the activities were filled with realism and a connection to reality. 21st Century Skills (critical thinking, communication, collaboration) and Life Skills (empathy, sensitivity, initiative and responsibility) were cultivated. The program was evaluated by both the students and the teachers involved, by using questionnaires as well as by participating in a treasure hunt and solving puzzles related to the actions of the program.
