Abstract: An introduction of an interdisciplinary methodology about the historical, architectural and structural investigation of monuments with a similar architectural type and construction method, is presented here. The results of the investigation of two Venetian churches reveal the similar points, as well as, the differences in structural damages and the reasons that cause them. In more detail, evaluation of structural behaviour of the masonry Venetian Church with the name of “Saint George” Mormori took place at Nerokourou. The church of “Saint George” is categorized as a small single room church with a pointed vault roof cover, where plenty of construction phases and different ways of building are noticed until 20th century. Parallel to this study, the investigation of the structural behaviour of the church of “Saint Elias” at Mournies gives the opportunity to make a comparison of the structural damages and causes, between these similar Churches.
