A Study on Place Identity Consciousness of Taiwan’s 00 Generations

Abstract: The sampling object of this paper is the 00 generation students at a university of technology in Taiwan. The teaching goal is to promote “local studies”, with the purpose of flipping the Chinese course and rooting in Taiwan. Borrowing the concepts of “Vertical Inheritance” of Blue Star Poetry Society and “Horizontal Transplantation” of Contemporary Poetry Society, which combines “Chinese Literature” (Vertical Inheritance, Hometown, Memory) and “Taiwan Literature” (Horizontal Transplantation, Xinxiang, Rooted), compatible with the ancient and modern, combined with the local, so that the Chinese course has both the original flavor of Taiwan, the practice field is investigated, and the local link is tried to deepen the memory of the land and the emotional belonging. The results show that the autonomy and independence of place identity and Taiwan’s historical view will become more and more obvious with the change of generations, and the 00 generation can be established as the awakening generation of “Taiwan’s sense of sovereignty”.
